Awards Night!

We hosted our awards evening last Friday, recognising the brilliant effort and application of our Friday Night Football members!
Covering the months of January - March, first up was our ‘Youngers’ group.
For Attitude of the Month, Oliver SL picked up the January award for his consistently brilliant effort always displayed at every session. Oliver SL has been coming to J.Ellis Football for a long time, firstly at our school sessions and for the last couple of years - our 5-star reviewed FNF!
In contrast, a relatively new member of our services picked up the February AOTM award. Max W has come into our group and shown a great enthusiasm for learning. Despite being one of the youngest in the group - you absolutely wouldn’t know!
Lastly for this set of awards, a member since (almost) the very start, Albie NB picked up the March trophy! Albie is someone who continues to push himself to be the very best he can be - a brilliant attitude trait we encourage. Albie will often be found somewhere in defence for our representative squads!
Moving towards our Olders group, Tyler D who recently re-joined FNF was our worthy winner! Tyler stepped in-between the sticks in our latest fixture, and is always one of the first to support and help his teammates.
Equally, another person we have to thank is our eldest member, Liam D! Liam has taken on the challenge of refereeing our rep fixtures with great enthusiasm and application. Whilst he may be desperate to play (and we certainly hope he can soon), his willingness and desire to learn a different area of the game has been a great help.
Lastly, Felix O picked up the final attitude of the month! Felix joined FNF just 5 weeks ago, and whilst we do all we can to make the transition into a new environment as easy as possible - we know it can be daunting! Felix has taken this in his stride and is already forming great relationships within the group.
Well done to all AOTM winners!
Moving across to our Player of the Month trophies, the first recipient was Arthur C! Another former member who has recently rejoined us. Arthur’s forward-thinking attacking game has been exciting to watch! Arthur has a great dribbling ability, as well as a brilliant variation within his shooting range.
On the flip side, February winner Mia is one of those who tries to keep the ball out! Mia loves playing in goal, and having her at FNF for a number of years has produced many memorable saves! Mia is a brave goalkeeper who recently joined up with one of our partner clubs, Lymington Town Sprites.
Lastly, Albert W won POTM for his continuous development both on and off the ball. He has a fantastic calmness when in possession, and equally demonstrates his notable jockeying technique. Well done Albert & all of the Youngers POTM winners!
Last but certainly not least, our Olders Player of the Month awards! For January, the ever-present Austin B took home the glory! Austin brings so much fun to the sessions we deliver, and with his recent goals & performances in training - a very worthy winner!
Dede O picked up Feb’s trophy, certainly related to the brilliant goal he scored in our first ever rep team fixtures, as well as showing not only great strength both on and off the ball - but also developing his passing range and decision-making abilities.
Aaryan A was our final winner, a participant who shows a brilliant attitude to his football, but this time was recognised for his final-third work in recent sessions and matches. Aaryan is comfortable to receive the ball both under pressure and in space, and often ends up with plenty of assists or goals from it!
Well done to not only all of the award winners highlighted above, but also all of our members who are at the heart of making what we do great.
