We have now completed a brilliant four-session & 2 - hour CPD DNA Introduction Course with our DNA Partner grassroots club, Lymington Town Youth FC.
Our hashtag, #SupportingGrassroots - really is important to us. That is exactly what we do within these club courses, going into the grassroots environment and supporting the players & coaches alike to be the very best they can be.
Each Saturday morning across the month of July, we have been down at Woodside Park with a number of players from a variety of Lymington Teams.
We've looked at our six-key areas of the game, helping players to learn & most of all, create an environment where they have fun and fall in love with football.
Speaking about the course itself, Coach & Mum of two boys who play for Lymington, Amy Menzies had this to say:
“Both my boys attend James' Friday sessions and love to play even when it's pouring with rain or so hot that the 3G is hotter than the sun! Seeing their confidence grow along with their skills encouraged me to get the teams on board and arrange the six-week block of sessions. All the feedback from the parents has been great and we hope to run another block very soon. Having James attend has not only been beneficial to the players but also the coaches. We have a lot to think about regarding the team and how it is now run, along with a lot of drills to keep them busy over the next few weeks before our first matches in September. ”
James Ellis also said the following about Lymington Town:
"Lymington are a wonderful local club that provide an all-through football pathway. Having known Amy from Friday Night Football, I was eager to get this partnership live and I've enjoyed every minute of the time spent with the players".
Ellis went on to say:
"What's impressed me the most is their 'learnability'. They have been a joy to work with and it's felt seamless and as if I had been their coach for years! I'm sure it won't be long until my Saturday mornings are spent up at Woodside again".
